Here are a few ingredients that will not be missed by you or your baby, when choosing to use products with natural ingredients instead. Most of which haven’t even been tested to see if they are even safe. And though some are, How much testing need to be done to see that results prove them tobe unsafe. It seems that the testing is done to really see how much of a particular ingredient can be put into a product, so that it doesn’t have immediate adverse effects.
ARSENIC – This may very well be found in fresh produce, as it is present naturally in the soil, as well as in drinking water, and rice. The levels may be surprisingly higher in rice and rice products, as it easily takes up arsenic from the environment more than other plants and grains. The twoforms of arsenic are organic (with carbon) and inorganic (without carbon). Inorganic arsenic is a carcinogen, meaning that it has the potential to cause cancer. Long term exposure to this may also cause lung disease, heart disease, diabetes, and various cancers.
METHYLENE GLYCOL – Also known as formaldehyde. This is mainly used in industrial materials like glue, plywood, different coatings, and also embalming fluid. This is very bad for the skin and eyes, and is also a carcinogen. Though our bodies naturally produce formaldehyde in extremely small amounts, it is very rapidly converted to formic acid to prevent accumulation inside the body.
POLYSORBATE 20 – Polysorbate alone is fine, but when there are numbers added, this means that it has now been treated with ethyl oxide. 20 parts to be exact. Whatever the number is how many parts ethyl oxide, and the higher the number, the more ethyl oxide. Ethyl oxide is very flammable, used for sterilizing equipment, and making other chemicals. It is a carcinogen also, and linked to leukemia and other cancers. There are concerns that products treated with ethyl oxide may be contaminated with 1, 4 dioxide (which is ether). 1, 4 dioxide also causes cancer, and may lead to damaging the kidneys, liver, eyes, and nose.
RETIN-Anything – Retinol, retinyl linoleate, retinyl acetate, and so on. This is a form of vitamin A, but in this form, a study by U.S. government scientists, implies that this may speed up the development of lesions and tumors on the skin, when applied in the presence of sunlight.
PARABENS AND PHTHALATES – NHANES (Nation’l Health and Nutrition Examination Survey) suggests that 90% of the U.S. population are exposed to these chemicals. Due to the constant exposure, these chemicals arise in breast milk, breast tissue, urine, and plasma. They have been linked with breast cancer and male reproductive issues. They also may increase the risk of issues like asthma and eczema.
Last but not least…
FRAGRANCE – This is the home of huuundreeeds of harmful chemicals. All of which are extremely toxic to the body, inside and out!
